Fishing in Hong Kong

Last week I went Hong Kong to visit my friend. She had hook up with this rich guy with a yacht . He brought us out to sea. Wow... it was wonderful! going out in a yacht in that cool weather. Then someone decided to fish!
Cute ya????

One of the guys actually caught a medium size fish after like a few hours. It's obvious he has never caught anything in his life as he had difficulty pulling the struggling fish up. The boyfriend helped in hauling the fish up to the deck. This fish looks bigger up close was flapping like crazy & made the guy who caught it jump backwards into the sea ! It's just too funny, exciting & rather shocking for all of us- & the water was cold !!!

We managed to pull the guy out from the freezing water. When all is done he took pictures with the poor fish ...lol...

Killed by a flute in the car???

Today I went to pick up my niece & on the way home she started playing her flute. Her mum that's
my sister in law never lets her play in the car because she's afraid someone might crash into the car & the flute will impaled my niece into the seat OR pierce through the whole mouth exiting through the back of the neck.

Yup that's how gross she is. My brother used to love that about her when they were younger. Now it's brimming on hysteric most of the time.
I mean how could that ever happen?

Advertisement Scam

Was discussing one of our favorite topics at lunch- scams- ya....... It seems there are so many that's going on, so me & my colleagues seems to be always exchanging what's the latest.... you know just to keep each other up to date, just in case!

In the past there is people calling up parents or grand parents & faking that they have "kidnapped" their kid or grand kid & demanding  ransom. Some have fallen prey! Thank god what they lose is just money & the child is actually quite safe, it's a bluff!

Mike today came up with the latest to tell us, this happened in Malaysia. It's an "advertisement scam". More than 100 people were cheated of  close to a million ringgit. The 'scammers' put up  ads in newspapers promising pay as much as $5,000- per month just plucking fruits in Australia & new Zealand! Victims were con into parting with their passports & as much as RM6,000- to cover flight fare, service charge & work permits. When these victims did not receive tickets or permits, they went up to the office only to find it vacated & no one to be found.

Actually I could understand how attractive this could have sounded. People at a certain age would most likely like to spend more time amongst nature & have a more relax life style. This would definitely seem like a perfect deal.
Thank God it's only a few thousand dollars!

Gambling has an advantage over the other forms of investments ???

Image result for casinos funny imagesFormer CEO of Daio Paper (Japan) was jailed for 4 years after losing millions of the paper company's moneys at casinos in Macua & Spore! He was accused of stealing at least 5.5 billion yen or S$87 million.

I cant believe it, why would he do that? My buddy said it's always like that. If you are in a position to get some money without anyone knowing, Likely you do it because of greed. You start thinking...hmmm.... why not use it to invest, that way you get some benefits for nothing. So you do it. Though there are many kinds of investments... there's shares, gold & you really like the thrill gambling gives you, so ....... Plus gambling has an advantage over the other forms of investments. The casinos' atmosphere, the excitement, the people & the glamour all makes gambling in a way more fun for people who like to show off!!!....lol..... well who knows... what I'll do if I'm in his position????

We Lost LKY !

We have been mourning the passing of LKY for the pass week. The news coverage , the messages the images, you cant miss it. The final day Sunday was raining so heavily, it adds to the bereavement .

Yes I was one of the thousands who came out in flocks to have a final glimpse of THE MAN . I just have to. I put on a rain coat :)) The whole nation view it on TV.

What more can be said? He did it ! He has done the impossible. Turning a fishing village to a first world ,modernized nation within a span of only 50 short years.
I salute the man.

I hope the reincarnation theory is true, may he comes back to do finer things for the future!
We will be waiting :))

Financial fraud at ancient order of monks- Order of Friars Minor

What's the deal with churches & money frauds ? In Singapore we have the City Harvest Church thingie & now the ancient Order of Friars Minor???

Well the Order of Friars Minor is a branch of the 800-year old Franciscan order of monks ( a Roman Catholic order, which was founded by St Francis of Assisi ) , whose members are dedicated to a life of poverty. And now it is in grave financial difficulty after the discovery of a massive financial scandal allegedly involving fraud and embezzlement of tens of millions of euros from its accounts.

An internal investigation which began months ago has found extensive financial irregularities at the Order of Friars Minor which has around 14,000 members worldwide and owns churches and convents in more than 100 countries, including the UK.
According to Italian media reports, this allegedly includes making investments in offshore shell companies based in Switzerland, which had been involved in questionable business deals and investments.

A senior friar with expertise in financial affairs has been appointed to lead the investigation into the alleged fraud and will go through records dating back more than a decade. ‘We are encouraged by the example set by Pope Francis in his call for truth and transparency in financial dealings in the church and in human societies,’ Michael Perry, the American monk who is head of the order wrote. The Pope has already initiated a radical clean-up of the Vatican bank since being elected in March last year.
Oh...wow... isn't that a little too late. And who has the money now?

May better days be ahead.... welcome 2015

Today's the first day of the year. Went out for shopping, thought I'll buy myself a gift for just surviving 2014. What a year ! Not so good for Malaysian aviation huh? Then there's the flood that's on going. What's with all these?

Sometimes when the bad gets going, we just have to shoulder on & stay sane by remaining calm, go shopping or what ever that works. Lets Just hope 2015 will be better.
