Was discussing one of our favorite topics at lunch- scams- ya.......
It seems there are so many that's going on, so me & my colleagues
seems to be always exchanging what's the latest.... you know just to
keep each other up to date, just in case!

In the past
there is people calling up parents or grand parents & faking that they
have "kidnapped" their kid or grand kid & demanding ransom. Some
have fallen prey! Thank god what they lose is just money & the child is actually quite safe, it's a bluff!
Mike today
came up with the latest to tell us, this happened in Malaysia.
It's an "advertisement scam". More than 100 people were cheated of close to a
million ringgit. The 'scammers' put up ads in newspapers promising pay
as much as $5,000- per month just plucking fruits in Australia & new
Zealand! Victims were con into parting with their passports & as
much as RM6,000- to cover flight fare, service charge & work
permits. When these victims did not receive tickets or permits, they
went up to the office only to find it vacated & no one to be found.
Actually
I could understand how attractive this could have sounded. People at a
certain age would most likely like to spend more time amongst nature
& have a more relax life style. This would definitely seem like a
perfect deal.
Thank God it's only a few thousand dollars!
