Liquor stores, restaurants and supermarkets in the
world's most populous country- China, is having a unique problem- fake wines!
Yes move over LVs & Guccis, we have fake wines now. Also did you know that
China is also the fifth-largest wine
consumer in the world?
Wow, I did a double take when I heard that too…lol…
This is the result of the rapidly increasing wealth
which in turn, transformed lives and tastes in the world's fastest growing
major economy. However, it is observed that wine & on the whole very
expensive ones are more for bragging than a genuine liking of taste.
Experts have no idea how much of the market is
cornered by fakes and copycats. Fakes target mainly the expensive wines. As
such the iconic Chateau Lafite has become the poster child for wine forgery.
Several
wines on the market are branded with names close to Chateau Lafite, including
"Chatelet Lafite". Poor thing….lol….
I heard people are told to break the bottles after they consume the "real thing" so that these empty bottles cant be recycle!
ReplyDeleteI pity all the consumers in China.
Where's the integrity of doing business right?
As a wine lover myself, I'm deeply sadden by what's going on.
Ya Sheryl, imagine going there to enjoy the evening & wine & pay so much & you get fake wine- real bummer!
DeleteI'll never drink any wine there...haha...
If these consumers are the kind that just want to show off by drinking these wines, I bet they don't know the difference between real & fake....lol....
DeleteSheryl there's not much integrity doing business there. Look at all the fake goods they churn out in record time.
DeleteBut it's good for those people who wanted these fake goods...hee....
DeleteWonder what's in the fake wine???
grape juice plus various suspicious ingredients ????
DeleteI don't know, it's like they always manage to put poisonous stuff in everything! Look at the milk powder !
DeleteThe mothers in China are forced to smuggle foreign made milk powder from HK as a result! Sad lah!
